
The premier met with representatives and thanked them for their contributions to state treasury. The businesses that paid the most taxes are Erdenet Factory, Tavantolgoi LLC, Mongoliin alt MAK, APU LLC, Oyutolgoi LLC, Energy Resource LLC, Mobicom, Skytel, Darkhan Ferrous Metal Factory, the third power plant, Talkh Chikher LLC, MIAT, and the Trade and Development Bank.
S.Batbold opened the meeting with a speech saying Mongolia is at the start of great era of growth. He said 2011 has been a year of agricultural progress, and that the country’s wheat and potato demands are now supplied by domestic producers. He also said 72,000 jobs have been generated by businesses in connection with the Government’s job creation program.
He said Oyutolgoi and Tavantolgoi mining works are intensifying operations and some new factories opened in the industrial sector. Also, investment has been increased in the infrastructure and health spheres. Economic growth will be 20 percent by the end of year. The Government noted the initiation and diligence of businesses in the country’s development, S.Batbold said.
He went on to say that private organizations have started to implement large construction projects and public-private cooperation has reached a new level. He said the development of capital markets is ongoing, and each citizen will receive 536 shares of Tavantolgoi LLC. He said the Government is trying to focus on benefiting not only domestic organizations but also foreign investors.
But the premier noted that representatives of construction companies and banks are not on the list of the highest taxpayers. He said the Government will study the reasons for this and appealed to large organizations for transparency.
