Q: There is information that the investigation into the events of July 1, 2008 has been completed and the matter has been forwarded to prosecutors. What can you say about that?
A: The matter of the deaths of four citizens from shooting during the disorder on July 1, 2008 has been investigated by the Investigation Department of the State Prosecutors’ General Office and it has been forwarded to the Ulaanbaatar Prosecutors’ Office (UPO). Monitoring prosecutors of the UPO are studying the files. There are many files and it is taking time. If the prosecutors confirm enough things, the files will be forwarded to the court.
Q: MP Kh.Temuujin showed some cartridge cases and the diary of a policeman who stated police shot at citizens. But Head of the Police Employees Family Union J.Altangerel denied Kh.Temuujin’s statement. Can the items Kh.Temuujin showed be confirmed as genuine?
A: Police employees fired shots and four citizens were killed during the disorder and there is enough evidence for that. We have more serious evidence than Kh.Temuujin has. We have some crucial materials, more than the diary of a policeman.
