Honored Athlete, Olympic silver medalist, and boxing world champion P.Serdamba has been named Mongolia’s Athlete of the Year for 2011.

He won a bronze medal at the AIBA world championships and has earned a spot to compete at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The boxer was chosen Athlete of the Year by a poll of members of Mongolia”s Association of Sport Journalists.

The year’s best coaches, teams, and sports federations have been named as well. All the winners received trophies at a ceremony on Monday in Ulaanbaatar.

P.Serdamba was unable to attend because he is training in Kazakhstan.

Best coach was the coach of the state women”s select team for free-style wrestling, T.Sukhbaatar, and the best team was the national bandy team. Best trainers were Ts.Badamkhatan (archery) and D.Ganzorig (boxing).
