The Public Transportation Office and the National Committee to Reduce Air Pollution are joining forces to switch buses from diesel fuel to cleaner-burning natural gas.

The two organizations are aiming to reduce by 30 percent the pollution created by public transportation. So 400 buses imported from Daewoo Ltd will run on natural gas.

Already, 120 buses of Bus–1 LLC, 80 buses of Bus–2 LLC, and 50 buses from Electric Transportation have been switched to natural gas. And 150 buses from private companies will be involved in the switch.

Buses can run for 700 to 800 km with a 105-liter supply of natural gas.
