The new election law allows Mongolians living abroad to vote in the 2012 parliamentary election at Mongolian embassies and consulates.

With an estimated 200,000 Mongolian citizens living abroad, the MPP is ratcheting up its efforts to reach out to these potential voters. The party is placing advertisements in publications popular with Mongolian expats. The party also sent trustees to England, Sweden, and South Korea beginning in 2010, and is studying the possibility of sending trustees to China, Germany, and the United States.

The MPP has also held its “To Hear the People” forum in South Korea, which has the largest Mongolian population outside Mongolia. About 3,000 Mongolian citizens live in South Korea. The party is also planning to organize the forum in England, Sweden, Germany, and the USA in 2012.
