
This is the fourth Bali Democratic Forum. Taking part are delegates from 82 countries, including 22 prime ministers.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yodhoyono welcomed Prime Minister S.Batbold to the forum, where the premier spoke about efforts to increase democracy in Asia and to strengthen democratic institutions.
S.Batbold said that, in leading the Community of Democracies, Mongolia is working to improve democratic education, support civil society organizations, widen regional cooperation, and exchange information with other countries.
He underlined that the goals and activities of the Bali Democratic Forum and Community of Democracies overlap.
The premier noted that Mongolia has initiated the “Asian Partnership for Democracy,” which is aimed at strengthening regional collaboration in the framework of the Community of Democracies.
