The Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science yesterday discussed draft amendments to the Medicine and Medical Equipment Law. The draft proposes withdrawal of local requirements on medicinal products already approved internationally. This will ease bureaucratic delays and make medicines more accessible. MPs expressed their concern about fake medicines that are extensively produced in both Russia and China.  

The draft suggests permitting only selected companies to import medicines. MPs accepted the DP suggestion to ban advertisement of medicines sold only by a doctor’s prescription.
