President Ts.Elbegdorj has announced that he awarded 60 university students “presidential scholarships” of MNT 1 million each in 2010 and 2011.

The president also noted that his suggestion that each university student in Mongolia receive an allowance of MNT 70,000 will take effect in January.

Ts.Elbegdorj refused a salary increase last year, while MPs increased their salaries by 30 percent. But the president says he supports students.
