Secondary school teachers went on strike from 8 to 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday demanding a salary increase in January.

There is no definite information on how many schools were affected by the strike. But teachers stated on Tuesday that schools affiliated with the Confederation of Trade Unions (CTU) would strike. All secondary schools in the capital and 95 schools in local settlements are affiliated with the CTU.

Representatives of kindergarten and school teachers will meet with Education, Culture and Science Minister Yo.Otgonbayar in the Culture Palace on Thursday. Teachers have announced that if the meeting yields no results, they will strike again next week.
