The 2011 “best of” mining sector awards will be announced at 6 p.m. on Friday at Bayangol restaurant. About 200 guests have been invited to the event.

Categories include best mining, most responsible mining, best eco mining, best technology, best exploration company, 2011 person of the mining sector, and best supporter organization.

Also a company will be awarded a Grand Prix based on professional nominations.

The Mining Journal Awards selection rules are followed. 450 suggestions were submitted in response to an online query, and 270 suggestions were sent to professional organizations.
