The notes were prompted by a forum called “Open Governance through Women’s Eyes,” which was held last March 5. More than 300 women took part in the forum, at which they demanded that half the seats in Parliament be allocated to women, since women account for half the country’s taxpayers and voters.
The notes say a quota of 50 percent would uphold the basic principles of democratic representation and social fairness. The notes say that men’s ideology, wisdom, experience, and opinions are different than women’s. Therefore, women should enjoy certain rights, says the note.
