The DP organized a “Mongol Citizen – 2020” forum in the Bayangol district last Saturday.
 
Among those taking part were Secretary General D.Erdenebat; head of the DP caucus at Parliament Ch.Saikhanbileg; MPs S.Erdene, Z.Enkhbold, D.Gankhuyag, and G.Bayarsaikhan; head of Ulaanbaatar DP Sh.Tuvdendorj; National Consulting Committee member S.Odontuya; and other officials.

D.Erdenebat opened the forum with a speech and noted that the DP organizes “Mongol Citizen – 2020” forums throughout the country.

More than 500 citizens took part in the discussion, talking about problems facing the district and the capital. They said that Bayangol has one of the highest population densities in the city, and along with that comes crime and drinking problems, more so than in other districts.

Citizens complained that too often city and state jobs are only available to people with political connections, and that morale among officials in the district is low. Participants noted that the state budget allocated total investment of MNT 55 billion to the district in 2010, but any benefit to citizens minimal, apart from loans to small- and medium-sized businesses.
