A national forum called “Implementing Legislation on Small Mining” was held at Ulaanbaatar Hotel on Tuesday.

Mineral Resources and Energy Minister D.Zorigt, Chief of Mineral Resources Authority D.Batkhuyag, Deputy Representative of Switzerland Development Agency Matias Meir, the governors of aimags, and representatives of small mining interests attended the forum.

The officials discussed legislation affecting small mining, the current situation of legislation, and the difficulties of enforcement.

They also discussed the results of enforcement actions in small mining operations, and talked about the present activity and conditions of small mining.
