The Prague Zoo says it will transport more rare wild horses
to Mongolia next year as part of its efforts to reintroduce the endangered species
to its native habitat.

The zoo sent four of its Przewalski horses to the Khomiin
Tal reserve in western Mongolia last June.

A zoo official says the transfer was successful and the
horses are doing well in their new environment. The official says at least four
more horses will be flown to Mongolia in June.

The Przewalski horse is native to the steppes of Central
Asia and became extinct in the wild in the late 1960s. It is listed as
critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and
is considered wild because it has never been successfully domesticated.
