The Ambassadors of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, The Czech Republic and Bulgaria — six European countries with which Mongolia established diplomatic relations 60 years ago — called  a news conference in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday on the occasion of the anniversary. The last two of these countries have a mission in Monglia while the others operate their embassy here from Beijing.

Mongolia and these countries had fraternal relations when they all followed the socialist system but their mutually beneficial cooperation has contimued even after the changeover to democracy. These countries have significantly contributed to Mongolia“s construction and production sector and have made large investments here.

Asked when Poland will reopen its Embassy in Mongolia, Ambassador Tadeus Homitsky said Poland was forced to close its Embassies and diplomatic missions in several countries including Mongolia because of financial problems. He would work for opening a new chapter in Mongolia-Poland relations. Poland has long experience of coal extraction and processing and would like to collaborate with Mongolia in the mining sector.The old cooperation in the educational and socio-economic sectors.
