The Government says the refinery will supply most of Mongolia’s domestic fuel needs, decreasing reliance on foreign imports. Currently, Mongolia is almost wholly dependent on fuel imported from Russia, and if Russia were to raise its petroleum export tax, consumer prices in Mongolia would rise, exacerbating inflation.

While in the aimag, D.Demberel also inspected ongoing preparations for winter.
