Parliament debated a package of draft laws on the courts, court administration, judges, and other judicial issues on Thursday. MPs approved further discussion of the draft laws.

D.Battulga, the head of the President’s Office, spoke about the proposals. He said the draft law on the courts would restructure the courts according to location, population density, and the number of criminal and civil cases.

The draft law on court administration concerns the independence of courts and judges, the organization and administration of courts, and rules governing the activity of courts.
The draft law on judges covers the requirements of judges, their authority, and the regulation of judges.

A draft law on mediation covers the rights of both parties, the independence of the mediator, and rules governing secrecy in such proceedings.
