The Ulaanbaatar Civil Assembly on Wednesday decided that a 75-year-old culture center of industrial workers in the Khan-Uul district will not be converted into a children’s theater.
The center was closed in the 1990s due to a lack of funds, but the Civil Representatives Assembly of Khan-Uul district invested in the culture center and reopened it.
Ulaanbaatar Mayor G.Munkhbayar recently proposed converting the structure into a theater for children and youth. The culture center staff opposed the proposal, which has now been rejected by the Civil Assembly.
