The head of the UN Development Program, Helen Clark, is visiting Mongolia from October 18 to 21 in observance of the 50th anniversary of Mongolia’s UN membership. She is accompanied by the first deputy assistant of the UN Secretary General, the deputy head of the UNDP, and the head of the UNDP in Asia and the Pacific Region.

Clark will call on Prime Minister S.Batbold to discuss the report “UN Development Aid Frame 2012-2016,” and to discuss Mongolia’s relations and cooperation with the UN.
She will also discuss the implementation of UNDP projects and programs in Mongolia and other issues with the head of the Cabinet Secretariat Ch.Khurelbaatar and Finance Minister S.Bayartsogt.

Clark will also open an international conference on development issues that is being organized by the Mongolian government and the UNDP. The conference will discuss the correlation between macroeconomics and human development policies, the responsible exploitation of natural resources, improving management, determining priorities and challenges, exchanging experiences, and the use of aid and support from donor countries.
