At it meeting on Wednesday, the Government discussed the construction of a state-owned oil refinery with in Darkhan-Uul aimag. The members issued a directive that the Government will not guarantee financing of the project.

According to a study, the facility would be capable of refining 44,000 barrels of crude oil every day, producing 1.7 million tons of fuel annually, while adhering to international health and environmental standards.
