
Ts.Elbegdorj expressed his happiness that the new ambassador is a seasoned diplomat with extensive knowledge of Mongolia. He thanked him for passing along a speech from the emperor of Japan. The President noted that mutual cooperation is vital to further bilateral relations and collaboration.
Ts.Elbegdorj said Mongolia and Japan are focused on strategic cooperation in mining, mineral resources, energy, infrastructure, animal husbandry, and agriculture. He added that an economic partnership agreement is also needed. He also noted that the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan will be observed in 2012, and the president invited the emperor to visit Mongolia to mark the anniversary.
