Former Anod Bank official N.Davaa, who was convicted and sentenced for swindling shareholders of the now defunct bank, is resting at his home after surgery.

He had been jailed since April 2011, but was allowed to be hospitalized in September for treatment of a heart condition, following a ruling by a Bayanzurkh district court. N.Davaa has had an operation and is now at home.

Two other former Anod Bank officials, N.Enkhtur and E.Gur-Aranz were released on bail on September 30. The three men were convicted of misappropriating bank funds and for selling counterfeit shares.

Several others are still under investigation in connection with the case, including former Anod Bank executive director L.Ulambayar; Mongol Bank first vice president B.Enkhkhuyag; Monitoring Office director J.Ganbaatar; and Finance Regulation Authority head D.Bayarsaikhan.
