The Standing Committee on Nature, Environment, Food and Agriculture discussed a draft law on land on Tuesday and members approved its further discussion. They established a working group headed by Su.Batbold.

Members made some suggestions, such as establishing “satellite towns” and ensuring that future city plans conform to international standards and preserve natural landscapes.
E.Bat-Uul suggested the Government consider allowing some organizations to own land that they are otherwise prohibited from owning due to a Constitution provision. Without that change, he said, private structures that have been built on state land can not be capitalized.

Members said the issue should be decided in the draft law discussion.
