
Rajendra K. Pachauri is the chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and head of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi, a non-profit focusing on research in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable development.
Dr. R.K.Pachauri expressed his happiness fulfilling promise to visit Mongolia when he met with the President in New York in 2009. He is taking part in summit Partnership of Mongolia and Asian Development Bank at an invitation of Ts.Elbegdorj. He stated his support of the President’s “green policy” and big opportunity of cooperation. The doctor also noted Mongolia could disseminate technology of fuel extraction from plants and exchange specialists of water proper usage. He as well said to implement projects of city planning such as “eco buildings” that have renewable energy solar and wind sources because Ulaanbaatar has many problems including fume, public transportation and housing.
Ts.Elbegdorj expressed his support of mentioned suggestions and noted that the doctor has seen facing problems of Mongolia. He said that urbanization, population density, climate change and mining sector development follow issues of nature protection and natural resources proper usage.
Dr. R.K.Pachauri has agreed to send research team to the President’s team and to cooperate in “green development”.
