More than 5,000 Mongolians hoping to work in South Korea are scrambling to get exams proving they are in good health. The prospective workers have already taken a Korean language examination. On October 1 they were abruptly notified that they needed to be examined in a hospital for possible heath problems. This has proven problematic for people in the countryside who have limited access to hospitals.

The Foreign Employment Office of Labor Exchange has offered to pay for the cost of returning to Mongolia any workers unable to get an exam who become ill in South Korea.  
The names of Mongolian applicants who pass a health examination will be forwarded to the Labor Exchange of South Korea in December.
