Heavy snow Tuesday night and Wednesday morning knocked out power in parts of Darkhan-Uul aimag. Our correspondent spoke by phone with Darkhan-Uul Governor G.Erdenebat, who said, “Electricity went out in an industrial region of Darkhan-Uul after 17 utility poles along the road between Orkhon and Darklhan fell down because of heavy snowfall.” G.Erdenebat said repairs were ongoing.

Emergency workers from Ulaanbaatar went to Khutul in Selenge aimag to repair fallen utility poles there, joining emergency workers from Darkhan-Uul, Baganuur, and Erdenet. It is also reported that Saikhan, Orkhon soum has no electricity because of fallen poles.
