First Deputy Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag toured the agriculture regions of Darkhan-Uul, Selenge and Tuv aimags over the weekend. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Kh.Zoljargal; deputy head of the Agriculture Board T.Yesun-Erdene; and journalists.

The minister’s team visited Bayanchandmani soum of Tuv aimag, where farmers traditionally plant vegetables and prepare animal fodder that annually yields 300 tons from 20 hectares. Then the team paid a visit to Khongor soum of Darkhan-Uul aimag and Khutul village of Selenge aimag. Farmers said this year’s harvest is good, and requested the minister’s support for selling their wheat.

N.Altankhuyag noted that the Government needs to make a policy on wheat sales and wheat storage facilities. He noted that he has been touring agricultural regions at harvest time for nine years.
