Twenty researchers from five countries are taking part in the conference, which is addressing ways to preserve and protect Erdene Zuu temple. Science Academy President B.Enkhtuvshin says the temple is one of the rarest and most important parts of Mongolia’s cultural heritage. It has been extensively researched since 1996, with help from Japanese researchers. Many ancient and rare monuments are located in the Orkhon River Valley, including Erdene Zuu temple.
The conference was organized by A.Ochir of the Nomadic Culture Institute and Japanese professor Matsukawa Takashi.
