N.Uchral, Member of Parliament, First deputy Prime minister and Minister of Economy and Development, was elected Chairman of the ruling Mongolian People’s Party. N.Uchral was elected with 94.95 percent support from more than 2,200 delegates who participated in the 31st Congress of the Mongolian People’s Party.
In his address, N.Uchral said “The Mongolian People’s Party will listen to its members, listen to its people, and regain its lost trust”. He also stated, “Equal participation of senior, middle-aged, and young representatives will be ensured at all levels. The capacity of women, youth, students, and senior organizations, which are non-governmental organizations under the party, will be strengthened.”
The candidates for the post of MPP chairman were N.Uchral, Minister of Economy and Development, and B.Lkhagvajav, President of MNCCI.
The 31st Congress of the Mongolian People’s Party lasted for two days and on November 12, 2025, amendments to the Constitution and the party program were discussed and approved. When approving the Constitution, the old regulation that “if a party wins a majority in the parliamentary elections, the party leader will be nominated as Prime Minister” remained unchanged.
