The film “The Wolves Always Come at Night,” co-produced by Mongolia, Australia, and Germany, won Best Documentary at the 12th Silk Road International Film Festival in China. A total of 2,825 films from 125 countries worldwide competed in the 12th Silk Road International Film Festival. Among them, 100 were documentaries.

“The Wolves Always Come at Night” premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Platform Prize program.
It was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 2026 Oscars by Australia. This is the first time that a film written in Mongolian, depicting the history of the Mongolian people, filmed on the Mongolian steppes, and featuring Mongolian artists alongside artists from Australia, Germany, the United States, Colombia, and the United Kingdom, has been nominated for an Oscar. It follows the lives of a Mongolian couple, who are herders in the Mongolian grasslands. After a damaging sandstorm the couple must move to the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar with their children and learn to live a dramatically different life.
