Woo Won-shik, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, is paying a visit to Mongolia. He will engage in discussions on parliamentary diplomacy and climate cooperation, his office said. During his five-day visit, Woo is scheduled to meet with top Mongolian officials, including President U.Khurelsukh and his parliamentary counterpart, D.Amarbayasgalan. The talks will focus on strengthening economic and infrastructure cooperation between South Korea and Mongolia, as well as exploring joint responses to the climate crisis in Northeast Asia.

Woo is also set to attend a tree-planting ceremony organized as part of a bilateral initiative to prevent desertification.

Today, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Pays Courtesy Call on President U.Khurelsukh. President Khurelsukh expressed confidence that the official visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia, taking place in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, would notably contribute to deepening and strengthening the “Strategic Partnership” between the two countries.

The President expressed satisfaction that relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, Mongolia’s “Third Neighbor” and a close partner in the region, have expanded in all social and economic sectors based on shared democratic values and that the friendship between the peoples of the two countries has further strengthened.

Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik emphasized the strengthening legal foundations of Mongolia-South Korea relations and cooperation and the developing inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Speaker also expressed commitment to further advancing economic cooperation and deepening bilateral cooperation on international and regional fora.
