G.Ariunbaatar received the Casta Diva Russian Opera Award

Mariinsky Theater soloist G.Ariunbaatar received the Casta Diva Russian Opera Award in the category “Singer of the Year”. He was awarded the prize for his performance in several leading roles at the Mariinsky Theatre and the premiere of a new version of “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi at the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia.

A new version of the world-famous opera “Rigoletto” will be performed on the Mariinsky stage as part of the Bolshoi Theater’s tour in St.Petersburg from April 25-27.

The Casta Diva award is a prestigious Russian opera accolade established in 1996 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of opera. It honors outstanding contributions to the opera world, with past recipients including renowned artists like Irina Arkhipova, Galina Vishnevskaya, and Anna Netrebko.

G.Ariunbaatar made his Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2016, performing the part of Escamillo in Carmen. In 2016 he was awarded the Order of Genghis Khan, the highest state decoration of Mongolia.
