The Mongolian government has announced a resolution to increase tourist numbers and to receive them for four seasons. Within the framework following measures will be implemented:
- To resolve the issue of reducing airfares by up to 40 percent compared to the summer season and to add domestic flight numbers and frequency.
- To operate some airports, such as Khovd, Murun, Choibalsan, Dalanzadgad, Deglii tsagaan and Chingis, in 3C, 4C, 4D categories and to start construction work of 4C category airport in Altay Tavanbogd and Buir lake.
- To extend visa exemption period for tourists from the Republic of Korea and to increase the numbers of visa free countries in appropriate way.
- To activate the tourism in border regions.
- To activate the ports operation, such as Tsagaannuur, Borshoo, Artssuuri, Khankh, Ereentsav, Khavirga, Sumber, Shiveekhuren, Gashuunsukhai, in international level. To extend working hours and to coordinate weekend schedules with neighboring countries to support travel programs.
- To issue short-term visas to tourists who is entering Mongolia through border crossings and to create special gate for group tourists.
- To organize some events, such as Tsagaan sar, “Blue pearl” ice festival, “Mazaalai” festival, in international level.
- To construct standardized sanitary facilities for tourists in appropriate locations.
