The 45th Chess Olympiad is an international team chess event organised by the International Chess Federation in Budapest, Hungary from 10 to 23 September 2024. It is the first Chess Olympiad that takes place in Hungary since Budapest hosted the 2nd unofficial Chess Olympiad in 1926.

197 teams from 195 countries in open category and 183 teams from 181 countries in women’s category are participating in the Olympiad. Mongolia has sent its men’s and women’s team.

Here are the team composition of Mongolia:

Men’s team includes IM G.Amartuvshin, FM S.Chinguun, FM E.Baasansuren, IM M.Amilal amd FM Kh.Itgelt. Women’s team includes WGM T.Munkhzul, IM B.Munguntuul, IM D.Nomin-Erdene, WFM E.Khuslen and WCM B.Mungunzul.

Mongolian men’s team in ranking 53th place. They started the tournament with a victory, beating Mauritius 4-0. But in the second and third rounds, they tied 2-2 with the Czech and Israeli teams. In fourth round they defeated the German team, and in the fifth round, they beat Sudan with a score of 4-0. Their next match is Bulgarian team.

Mongolian women’s team is ranking 3rd place without a single loss. They played five round with Guatemala, Monaco, Peru, Spain and US. In particular, they beat the strong team of the United States and created a sensation. Their next match is Georgian team.
