Mongolia sends 12 athletes to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be held from 28 August to 8 September with around 4400 athletes competing in 22 sports. 12 athletes from Mongolia will compete in six sports: judo, archery, taekwondo, powerlifting, athletics and swimming.

The Paralympic Games have been held since 1988 and Mongolia has participated since 2000. D.Baatarjav, state honored athlete, won the first medal from The Paralympic Games in 2008. Since that, E.Sodnompiljee and B.Uugankhuu won the medals.

E.Sodnompiljee, state honored athlete, will compete in men’s 107kg powerlifting and participate as a flag bearer of Mongolia at the opening ceremony. This will be his 3rd Paralympic game. P.Enkhmanlai, international master, will compete in the 100-meter wheelchair race of the T-53 category of para athletics. Furthermore, Ts.Battulga will participate in the F-40 category of para athletics.

Mongolia has never participated in Paralympic swimming, and this year, Kh.Nomuun will participate in swimming for the first time.

In addition, archers such as World Cup team bronze medalist, Asian World Cup bronze medalist D.Selengee, and Asian World Cup bronze medalist B.Oyun-Erdene will participate in para archery. G.Bolor-Erdene, U.Surenjav will fight in taekwondo. It is the 2nd Paralympic game for state honored athlete G.Bolor-Erdene. T.Suvd-Erdene at 48kg, L.Turuunaa at 70 kg, B.Battugs at 90kg, D.Ganbat at 90kg will compete para judo.

Some athletes of Mongolia will go to Paris on August 18.
