President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith planted commemorative trees in Mongolia

At the invitaion of Mongolian President U.Khurelsukh, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith is making a state visit to Mongolia on June 11-12, 2024. Heads of state held official talks and signed cooperation documents during the 17th presidential visit to Laos.

Mongolia and Laos established diplomatic relations in 1962, and this visit is the fourth visit by the president of Laos since 1980.

During the visit, Mongolian President U.Khurelsukh, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and First ladies of two country planted commemorative trees  in “Mongolian culture park” complex. Both countries are landlocked and vulnerable to climate change. Because of that, the heads of state emphasized the importance of each country’s participation in solving global problems such as desertification and environmental degradation. Moreover, they claimed that they will continue to contribute in this field.

President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and the First lady Naly Sisoulith has visited in “Gorkhi-Terelj national park” and acquainted with the nomadic way of life and customs.
