Foreign investment is the most important factor in Mongolian economy. The Mongolian government especially concerned about to gain the trust of investors and to create a reliable and normal legal environment for their activities.

As of first quarter of 2024, direct investment has reached 885 million usd or increased by 73 percent from the same period last year.

79 percent of the total investment or 698 million US dollars is in the mining sector, 8 percent or 75 million US dollars is in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities, 6 percent or 54 million US dollars is in the trade sector, 3 percent or 26 million US dollars went to the finance and insurance sector, and the remaining 4 percent or 32 million US dollars went to 15 other sectors such as transport, information, communication and construction.
