There are 2,060 households in flood risk areas

Last year, due to the rainfall too many households and businesses flooded in Ulaanbaatar. Mongolia National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring has informed that there is a high probability of temporary rain in June 1, 2 around northern part of the country. Also it is expected to be cool with rain on the June 4 in the western provinces and the western half of the country, and June 5 in the central and eastern parts of the country.

In order not to repeat the situation of last summer, a clear plan is being organized. There are 50 locations in Ulaanbaatar where water remains. Of these, 22 locations have been renovated and 12 km of pipelines are being repaired. There are 2,060 households in flood risk areas in 7 districts of Ulaanbaatar. 460 of them don’t have a license.

Professional organizations have warned that unexpected heavy rains are expected this year. In the months of June and July, people travel to the countryside and relax along the river. It is advised to watch the weather forecast regularly and be careful.
