The Mongolian Red Cross Society has informed today about the aid provided to herders affected by the zhud disaster in Mongolia in 2023-2024. A total of 7.6 billion MNT aid, including cash, mineral fodder packages, food, and hygiene packages was provided to 11,350 herding families in 21 provinces affected by the zhud disaster.

11 members from the Mongolian Red Cross Society had worked in Emergency headquarter of  State Emergency Commission from November 8 to May 15. They aimed to work in riskiest provinces.

Following organizations had supported this aid: International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, United States Agency for International Development, United Nations Population Fund, Australian Government, Australian Red Cross, Chinese Red Cross, Chinese Embassy, South Korean Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, “Badrakh Energy” LLC, European Union and Serbian Government.
