“European Film Festival” will be held at Tengis cinema of Ulaanbaatar city on May 17-20, 2024. European Union and “E-Participation of Citizens” non-governmental organization jointly organize the event within the framework of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the European Union and Mongolia. Aim of the event is to bring films to Mongolian audiences with equal access, to improve the cinematographic education of children and youth and supporting the international cooperation of movie makers.
Eight documentaries and feature films, 11 short films from 11 countries like Estonia, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Czech, Greece, Hungary, Latvia and Austria, which are selected at the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance, Berlin and San Sebastián Film Festivals will be shown for free to Mongolians for four days. These short films are about climate change and environmental issues.
The opening performance will be watched by an invited audience. Opening movie of the festival is “To save a language” which is Estonian film. Tickets can be purchased free of charge at the “Tengis” cinema ticket office and www.tengis.mn.
