Mounted polices started working this week to prevent citizens from being harmed by crime and violations as the weather is getting warmer. Mounted patrols reduce crime around Ulaanbaatar street and basin of the Tuul river. Mongolian Government announced 2023-2024 as the “Visit to Mongolia” year. So the number of mounted patrols will continue to increase.
Mounted patrols have the advantage of being able to quickly operate in areas that cannot be accessed by vehicle or on foot.
For now, 12 officers are patroling as a mounted polices in six directions. May and June, the number of mounted patrols will be increased to 30, and they will operate in the Gorkhi-Terelj area, the camping area, Khan-Uul, Bayanzurkh districts, and the Tuul river basin. Also during the Naadam festival, mounted patrols will play the role of promoting traditional culture and introducing it to tourists.
