Asian Judo Championships has started in Hong Kong. A total of 166 male and 106 female athletes from 36 countries are competing there. The Mongolian team was full of success on the first day of the competition.
B.Baasankhuu, who wrestled in women’s -48 kg weight, matched against South Korean athlete for gold medal. She won the first gold medal of the Mongolian team by defeating his opponent in this match. B.Tsogt-Ochir matched against athlete of Kazakhstan for bronze medal and won too. The streak of medals did not end there. L.Sosorbaram, who wrestled in -52 kg weight, defeated his opponent from South Korea and won the bronze medal. Also, B.Erhembayar won a gold medal in men’s -66 kg, and L.Enhriilen won a gold medal in women’s -57 kg.
On the second day, B.Gankhaich matched against Japanese athelete in women’s -63 kg, but she lost and won the silver medal. B.Nyam-Erdene won the silver medal too, in women’s -70 kg.
On the third day, Mongolian two judokas has qualified in final, but couldn’t won. G.Altanbagana matched against Japanese athelete in men’s -90 kg, but he lost and won the silver medal. Also, A.Adiyasuren matched against South Korean athlete in women’s +78 kg and won the silver medal. Besides that two silver medals, there was two bronze medals.
Thus, Mongolian judokas are ranked second in the team following Japanese team. Today, Mongolian team will match against Taiwan.
