Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, where half of the population of Mongolia lives, has not made significant reforms in the public transport sector in the last 10 years. 600 new buses were purchased and put into service from December of last year.

In order to put 600 buses into service, the city authorities made a decision to provide free training for qualified bus drivers who have class B and C driving rights, increase the salary of drivers to 3.5 million MNT, and create conditions for working in two shifts. A total of 1,807 citizens registered for the training, and more than 400 participated in the first round. Currently, 129 of them have started working.

In addition, the bus driver’s salary was increased from 1.5-2.5 million to 3-3.5 million.
