The construction of the cable car started officially today /2024.04.04/. The 4.2 km cable car with a capacity of 1,200-1,500 passengers per hour will start running next year. It will go from Yaarma to Kharkhorin bus station.

The main goal of “UBCABLECAR” project is to reduce traffic congestion in the direction of Yarmag and to increase the types and availability of public transport in Ulaanbaatar.

18 percent of public transport passengers in the west and south regions of the capital will be able to use this vehicle by operating cable car. This cable car is an environmentally friendly, 100 percent electric vehicle that can transport people with special needs, strollers, and bicycles. It also withstands cold and winds of up to 75 km/h.
