15th session of the “Urban-Rural Revival” working group held at Government palace 4 days ago. The main goal of this working group is to increase urban-rural migration. For this purpose, it is necessary to build a large number of rental apartments in the local area and let the people who are moving from Ulaanbaatar to the local area to rent apartments at a discount.

The Mongolian government has decided to build apartment for 300,000 families. Also they decided to change the mortgage loan to 3 percent in local area and to provide 50% of the loan to the local area.

In 2022, the number of people moving from local areas to the capital was 37,000, and in 2023, it decreased to 32,000. In 2022-2023, the number of migrants from Ulaanbaatar increased from 17,000 to 23,000. Most of the people migrated to Darkhan Uul, Orkhon, Umnugobi, and Tuv provinces.
