Today /2024.04.02/, State Emergency Commission of Mongolia has given regular information about the emergency situation. According to the official statement, around 30 percent of Mongolian territory covered by snow. The average snow thickness is seven centimeters.

As of March 20, 20 soums of 6 provinces have affected iron zhud, 85 soums of 16 provinces have affected white zhud disaster. This information will be updated today and the results will be announced tomorrow. In Mongolia, the weather has warmed and the risk of zhud disaster has decreased. As of today, less than 10 percent of territory has risk of zhud disaster.

Due to the heavy snowfall, the amount of water in the snow is 4.30 cubic kilometers.

Since January 1, there was have been 85 reports of snowmelt flood and river water overflow all over the country. As of April 1, 14 locations in the capital and 2 locations in the local area have been affected snowmelt flood.

Since November, Mongolian herders have lost more than 5.9 million livestock. Among the country’s 21 provinces, Sukhbaatar, Khentii, Arkhangai, Dornogobi, Tuv, Khuvsgul, Dundgobi, Dornod has been the most affected by the severe cold and lost the most livestock.
