National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring warns that wet snow, blizzards and strong winds will fall in the eastern and southern parts of the country today. It is snowing and blizzarding in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar this morning. The wind speed is expected to reach 16 meters per second at times.

This morning due to the heavy snow, 17 cars has collided on the road to “Chingis Khan” International Airport in the eighth district of Khan-Uul District. Many people were injured, the exact number is unknown at this time.

Due to extreme weather and accidents, the road to Chinggis Khan International Airport was temporarily closed and reopened. But some international flights have been canceled and most flights have been rescheduled by MIAT.
