Paris 2024: Mongolia will spend 83-84 million MNT per athlete

The regular meeting of the members of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee was held last week. Out of 180 members, 129 attended the meeting and it started with 71.6 percent attendance. Activity report of 2023, membership issues, 2024 activity plan and budget were discussed and approved during the meeting.

Last year, “Ulaanbaatar 2023” East Asian Youth Festival was held in Mongolia. As part of this festival, support of 333,142,500 MNT was provided to 12 sports associations. The Football Association received the highest support of 63 million MNT, followed by the Volleyball Association with 44,077,000 MNT, the Basketball Association with 42,014,000 MNT, and the Athletics Association with 37,754,500 MNT.

A total of 1,541,389,500 MNT was provided to associations within the framework of the “Hangzhou 2022” Asian Games.

Since 2018, preparations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris have been completed. In 2024, 25 billion 600 million was budgeted while the budget for preparatory work was 5 billion 31 million in 2018. Also, the annual expenditure per athlete was 31-32 million MNT in 2018, and 83-84 million MNT will be spent in 2024.
