380 families lost all their livestock

Today /2024.03.22/, State Emergency Commission of Mongolia has given regular information about the emergency situation. Today, it is emphasized that the animals that have been killed improperly because of zhud disaster will be destroyed.

According to the statement, the number of livestock killed by this winter’s extreme cold weather has risen to 5,222,950 in Mongolia. About 5,400 head of cattle are gathered in the border strip, which is inaccessible to herders. Among the country’s 21 provinces, eastern Sukhbaatar has been the most affected by the severe cold. A total of 2,728 households lost 70 percent or more of their livestock and 380 families lost all their livestock.

Therefore, we are planning the next activities, such as, to provide these families with livestock and to include them various projects.

As of today, State Emergency Commission has received 3.3 billion MNT in cash from 49 citizens, 128 enterprises. Also it has received inventories that costed more than 809 million MNT from 5 citizens, 29 enterprises. State Emergency Commission has received 3.6 million US dollars of aid from foreign countries and organizing its delivery.
