A decree on the reconstruction of Kharkhorum, the capital city of Ikh Mongol, which is the center of global politics, economics and civilization, was issued by Mongolian President in 2022. The office of the president informed about this today. In connection with the presidential decree, the government was given instructions.

As for today, 50 percents of Mongolian population and 70 percents of all services has been centralized in Ulaanbaatar city. Because of that, so many problems, such as traffic jam, air pollution, flood, has risen. The biggest solution to solve those problems is to construct new city. The most feasible option is the reconstruction of Kharkhorum.

According to preliminary estimates, the total population is expected to reach 4.5 million by 2040. Of this, 500,000 can be placed in Kharkhorum. Furthermore, 285,000 new workplace will be created. There will be demand for food costs about 2 trillion MNT and nearby provinces could provide this demand.

The government has announced 2024 as Regional development year. According to this announcement, the key to regional development of Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai and Bayankhongor provinces is the city of Kharkhorum.
